Vittorio Lazzarin, his
wife Lina and their son Michele are pleased to present the fruit of their passionate
and creative work in the respect of pastry making tradition. Their art is based on
ingredient knowledge together with hand and heart creation of pastries, cakes and
palate appeals. Itís Lazzarin art that Vittorio has learnt since 1959 and that now
is being handed down to his son Michele.
Pasticceria Lazzarin is also looking for new tastes and new products such as:

Tradition and its secrets are now going along with the search for new markets and the attention paid to new technologies, such as Internet. In the new e-conomy there will always be a space for pastries, cakes, good coffee and genuine ice cream.

Pasticceria Lazzarin is most of all the result of the daily work of Lazzarin family members (Vittorio, Lina, Michele, Paola) and their collaborators Sandra, Emanuela, Ivano, Tiziano, Lucia and Nerella
Emperor Frederick IIís Cake is the result
of a research that bear witness to the immemorial tradition Monselice history is
based on. The Rocca town had Frederick II as a guest in1239. The Emperor himself
wanted this fortification and made it the ì Imperial Special Chamberî. In his memory
he also awarded Monselice people the purple imperial cloak known as the ìFerraiolo
Imperialeî.
In mediaeval time cakes were not usually prepared for middle class tables because
of the high price of demerara sugar and they belonged more to the refined traditions
of aristocratic cooking.
Monselice prize-winning Pasticceria Lazzarin offers a cake that
the great Emperor Frederick II of Swabia , mindful of the dainty delicacies he was
used to, could have desired for himself and his retinue. His Court was an European
cultural centre but it was also influenced and almost surrounded by exotic Middle
East appeals.
The ingredients have been chosen among those that were available at the time and
in the same season when Frederick II was in our town.
Ingredients for the Emperor Frederick IIís Cake:
Wheat flour, demerara sugar, butter, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, "armelline"
(dried seeds extracted from apricots and peaches stones, eggs, sultanas, baking powder,
natural flavourings.
Hand making and genuine ingredients give these biscuits a country-style look. Vittorio Lazzarin created them in 1994 mixing carefully maize meal, pine kernels, walnuts, eggs, milk, rum, sultanas and chopped almonds.
